Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic
It wasn’t until after I processed these two photos that I discovered this particular weekly challenge is over two weeks old. Oh well… I’m tossing these photos out here anyway. There’s an abundance of old buildings and structures scattered throughout my town. Sometimes I wonder what they might have looked like in their prime. It’s difficult to imagine what life looked like a hundred years ago – or so – given that we generally perceive life back then in grainy black and white and sepia. I took the photo below just under a year ago and post-processed it using Corel PaintShop Pro and then I ran it through a freeware program (which I like particularly) called FotoSketcher:

The photo (below) was taken with my cell phone as I was whizzing by the old Schroeder Mercantile Co. store at 65mph. I used the same process as the above photos to post-process it. I don’t have the “before” photo since it was taken with my cell phone – almost a year ago!
